Woohooo~!!! This is the first I ever made Trifle Pudding but it came out nice! (except for the part that the jelly became kind of hard - blame the instructions!).
Ingredients :
1 pack of strawberry-flavoured powdered jelly (depends on how much you need)
1 loaf of Swiss-roll strawberry cake, slice them up around 1cm thick
1 can of lychee in syrup, shred the lychees into pieces
1 can of cocktail fruits
1 can of evaporated milk
1 tablespoon of sugar
4 tablespoons of custard powder
How-to's
First :
- Mix the two cans of fruits, together with the syrup.
- Arrange the sliced cake into the tray/dish, closely.
- Pour spoonfuls-by-spoonfuls of the fruit syrup onto the cake, to moisten them up and plus, making them more tasty too. :P
- Boil the evaporated milk on the stove, then add in the sugar and the custard powder. Constantly stirring until the mixture until thickened. Remove from the stove.
- Quickly before the custard cools off and hardens, pour the custard onto the arranged cake slices.
- 'Sprinkle' with the mixed fruits.
Third :
- Prepare the jelly as instructed (and please make sure that the jelly is thoroughly mixed and turned into clear mixture before removing from the stove).
- Based on my experience, usually the jelly will become more chewy than we expected (when cooking as per instructions). So, test them first.
- If it is proven it is chewy-er, fret not, while cooking the jelly, add some water.
- Pour them directly onto the sprinkled-with-fruits custard-and-cake combination. Let them cool off and keep refrigerated.
- VoilĂ !! Time to dig in and whet your appetite :D
