A Month of No Updates

Whoaaaaa...
Being busy and all. I feel like if I have 8 hands even, I would be still busy!

I have a new boss. And my colleague got promoted and transferred to another ministry. So you can imagine how busy I am right now because I have to handle his job until we get a new officer to fill in the vacant position.

Ok now.
Till then :)

Being Late

Pagi tadi dah menaga *sembur-sembur api* dengan jayanya. I was late for work.

Imagine the whole weekend being spent having meeting in Kuala Terengganu (yes, you read it right). Having to drive instead of taking a flight  to KT - because I wanted to bring Amna along. Dahla bertolak lambat, pukul 3pm on Friday.

Kononnya nak bertolak pukul 12 tengah hari during Friday prayer, but then kena hantar dulu husband pergi clinic sebab suspected kidney stone (dah 3 hari sakit perut). Balik tu nak kemas barang-barang Amna lagi (because nobody helped). Kemas punya kemas dah pukul 2.15pm. Singgah pergi kedai sebab we are out of Amna's diapers. Arrived KT at 10pm. Hujan sepanjang jalan so tak boleh drive laju-laju. Max was around 120km/h.

Sampai je KT terus check in hotel and submitted the needed information to the urus setia. Then terus pergi rumah Tok. Penat tak? Mau tak penat. Handphone tak charged pulak. Off gitu je. That's the cons of having an android. Cepat habis battery.

Pagi-pagi as usual masakkan dulu meal untuk Amna because I know I'd be leaving her the whole day. So pagi-pagi dah basuh baju Amna and mine, siap sidai (thinking that balik on Sudnay mesti dah penat takleh buat apa dah). Bertolak ke hotel at 7.30am. Actually hotel tu dekat je, around 1.2km. So around 2-5 minutes dah sampai. The meeting started off at 8.30pm and ended at 6.30pm. Nasib baik malam takde programme sebab dah pulun semua petang tu. Cip Ana called and told me Amna was behaving well - surpriiiiise!!! NOTTTT. Amna will only throw tantrums bila dengan ibu je. Truth be told, kids are SUPER SMART. Imagine seharian ok sangat-sangat, bila ibu balik je terus mengamuk-ngamuk tak nak pakai diaper. Ibu tak sempat duduk lagi terus layan Amna. Penat? Ye, tapi Amna punya pasal, ibu ok je. Malam tu dozed off sebab tak larat sangat - sampai Amna as usual main sorang-sorang dalam bilik Tok Ani tu.

Then on Sunday morning bertolak pagi around 11 am. Meeting pagi tu only for the JPNs. So my division tak terlibat. Pagi-pagi dah goreng jemput-jemput pisang untuk Amna and mandikan Amna. Kemas baju semua while letting Amna eat her breakfast. Serba tak kena. Rupanya Amna tak cukup tidur because the night before she played until late at night.

11am hantar Tok Ani ke hospital for check up and off we go. Stopped to fill up the tank and bought some food. Later stopped in Kerteh to get Amna's diaper changed. I was really tired that Cip Ana drove until somewhere in Pahang. I took the wheels from there and let Amna played with Cip Ana.

I promised Alia that I would go see her and baby Syifa but then I reached home almost 7pm. So kalau nak drive pergi Sepang lagi lah like an hour or so. Baby needs rest so I called up Alia telling her that I would see her on Tuesday sebab today ada meeting penting.

This morning I woke up at 6.35am - super lambat and I heard Amna already crying for milk. Once done breastfeed, the only things you could do is tandem (pump and feed at the same time), or feeding and eating or feeding, eating and watch TV. So what I did was feed-pump-and watch TV. Nak masak pun my hands are tied. 7am barulah nak masak semua. So pagi tadi sempat buat bubur and egg sandwich for Amna je. Tu pun lambat sebab tunggu bubur masak dalam steamer.

Punched in 8.15 sebab parking takde! Geram tau office ni. Parking kena berebut. Jap lagi tengah hari kena alih kereta pulak. Patutnya lambat 5 minit dah jadi LAMBAT 10 MINIT - SEBAB PARKING JE!

So I have a really good reason to be annoyed in the morning because I felt I was being misunderstood. Ingat kita ni suka-suka je nak marah pagi-pagi. It ruins the mood THE WHOLE DAY.

Next week I have to go for evaluation pulak Monday to Thursday. Sape nak jaga Amna pulak?

We'll see.

...And The Stress Begins Part 2

I went back late from Melaka last night, around 9pm and after a short break at home, I brought along my husband and Amna to the office and arrived at the office 9.30pm. FYI, my office tu akan bergelap by 7pm. Imagine doing your work in the dark, only depending on the light from your monitor. Do people care? NO. They just want to know the job is done, even if it costs you your life.

Alas, the data supposed to be keyed-in is still pending right now, while I'm waiting for my staff to send back the owh-so-smart card because they got the numbers WRONG. And with that itsy-bitsy mistake, the big shots (Kay Es Yuu and Tee Kay Es Yuu) have to wait until the problem is settled, ONLY THEN they can consider it done, with one click. 1 person's delay, causes so much hassle and time. Adoi. Even my husband starts questioning me "Sayang sorang je ke buat ni? Hairan la. Lainlah kerja kilang, malam-malam ada shift."

What do you know about being a government servant? I used to be in a more complicated situations, whereas the Lembaga Perolehan was done on Sundays, having to sleep at the office, being a jet-setter (which is not that pretty anyway, very tiring). All these are parts and parcels of SYMP. Who said working with the government is all perks and relax? HELL NO. Siapa-siapa yang terasa nak kerja government tu, kalau ingat kerja masuk pukul 8am then balik pukul 5pm sharp, sila jangan apply kerja kerajaan. Don't even think of browsing through SPA's website. You don't deserve it.

Ya Allah, help me bear with this situation. And please make others understand too.

Ameen.

p/s: No, I did not write this in anger. Just in a fast mode hehe :D

Public vs Government

Gempar tadi kat waiting area kaunter Khidmat Pengurusan.

Aku ni the only officer available kat wing ni baru je lepas pump (awalkan session sebab ada meeting pukul 9.00am). Tiba-tiba PAP datang bagitau mintak tolong handle ada parents datang sebab anak depa patutnya jadi PSH minggu ni tiba-tiba dapat call semalam suruh jangan datang kerja - 'diberhentikan sebab peruntukan takde' kata orang tu. I was like "What? Sape yang call cakap macam tu???"

Then I called my boss asking about what should I do, and what to explain to them. Aku pun dengan rasa bersalah pegi explain kat mamat tu and the parents. And what could we promise to the fella (who came barging in and rudely ask "Cik ni semua benda tak pasti, apa yang pastinya kat sini?!" - ewah kau tak tau aku ni sape lagi ye.) pelantikan dia ditangguhkan, awal bulan 10 baru ambik. Bukan sekarang. Mula-mula suruh panggil N*17 tu jawab, dia tak nak keluar. Lama jugak suruh dia keluar, lepastu N*17 tu pun explain yang pelantikan dah dibuat tapi dia cakap Ketua Sektor (boss aku la tu) maklumkan yang pengambilan baru PSH dah takde dan suruh berhentikan pengambilan baru. Mamat tu menjawab apentah sebab aku tengah sibuk on the phone dengan boss aku. Suara punya la tinggi N*17 tu menjawab dengan mamat tu sampai la bilik mesyuarat sebelah pun dengar. Riot! Mamat tu dah ugut-ugut nak saman. Ada mak takut? Pegi la saman punnnn. Yang kena nanti pegawai tu jugak. Heh. Aku pantang betul orang tanpa usul periksa ni main sebuttt je saman-menyaman ni.

Sekarang ni my boss dah dituduh oleh staff sendiri tak jaga kebajikan anak buah - padahal semua tak tau yang dia duk bersihkan nama pegawai 41 tu punya taik (aku pun jadi tukang bersih jugak sebab dia nak blah dah, tinggallah kitorang ni nak betulkan balik semua-semua huhuhuhu). Setau aku, patutnya M*41 tu la yang call explain everything to the guy. Ni suruh N*17 yang menjawab. Kau tu sekolah tinggi-tinggi tapi bodoh bertingkat-tingkat. Ada ke suruh N*17 pegi call. Duh.

Tu perbezaan orang yang dah pergi DP*A dan yang belum pergi DP*A. Aku tak pernah bercakap dengan anak buah "Sape boss awak sekarang ni? Saya kan?". Tu angkuh namanya. Pesanan buat adik-adik yang baru setahun jagung kerja dengan government, confirm pun belum, jangan nak berlagak sebab selagi tak confirm, gred tetap 41. 41 kan dah sedia maklum = pencacai. Eh, 44 pun pencacai weiiii... Semua kerja pun kita buat. Aku masa gred 41 dulu kesalahan tak berapa besar pun immediate boss tuding jari macam hapa. Saved his own ass but not mine. Bosses lain pulak sibuk nak defend aku. Ni boss siap carik jalan nak selamatkan dia, takkkkk dia buat keras kepala dia ikut suka hati. Ambikkkk dah kena AP59.

To make it short, I concluded the case as:
  1. Ingkar perintah oleh pegawai bawahan - pegawai 41 berlagak besar (bukan aku ye)
  2. Orang awam ni memang tak tau prosedur pelantikan dan pada mereka bila keje kerajaan dalam satu Bahagian, semua orang kat Bahagian tu yang bersalah bila perkara macam ni berlaku. Aku siap kena tengking tu dengan mamat ni. Dia cakap aku tak faham dia dari Kelantan datang jauh-jauh nak keje. Pastu boleh pulak cakap "Saya tak lapar la nak keje kat sini!". Amboi. Yang kau datang jugak tu kenapa?
  3. Orang-orang lama kerja kat sini tak semestinya betul. Ikut cakap immediate boss tapi arahan Ketua Sektor bangkang.
Pengarah pulak putar alam. Haritu cakap lain, harini cakap lain. Huh.
Asalnya aku nak buat update pasal Amna. terpaksa post dulu yang ni kasi hati reda. Ni aku nak pegi backing boss aku yang orang kat luar (orang-orang yang duk kat partition je tapi mulut macam hapa) duk tuduh/kutuk/fitnah tu. Hohoiiii harini mak nak mengamuk.

UK?

Meeting habis lambat. Perut dah berbunyi-bunyi dan I had to do some pumping because dah engorged. Balik dari meeting nampak ada paper bertulis "SEGERA" kat atas meja. Pump dulu pape cerita. Lepas tu terus pegi beli food sebab dah pukul 2 baru nak makan. Kebulur okeh.

Balik dari beli food, boss tegur...

"Niha, dah tengok ke atas meja tu? Yang tulis SEGERA."
Alamak, tak sempat tengok. Kerja apa pulak sampai segera megera ni.
"Belum, nanti saya tengok ye Encik Khairul."
"Tindakan segera ye Niha". Fine. Urgent sangat sampai kena tengok on the dot. Saya pun masuk bilik tengoklah apa yang urgent sangat tu.

'Latihan Dalam Perkhidmatan Bagi Perkhidmatan Bukan Guru'. I read it out loud. Kat belakang ada senarai kursus. Ada kursus kat UK, 2 minggu. Ada jugak kursus seminggu, but mostly in UK and Australia. Eh? Kena isi borang? Perakuan Ketua Jabatan untuk kebenaran menjalani latihan? What the?

Boss cakap
"Niha, isi yang no. 1 tu ye." Sengih. RIPA, UK, 2-14 July 2012 : Financial Risk Management.

Perghhhh... Bestnya bosssss sporting! Kalau confirm dapat pergi alangkah bestnya! *berangan tak sudah haha*. kalau dapat barulah nak fikir how to export back my EBM. Heh.

Alhamdulillah, Praise be to Allah The Almighty

Alhamdulillah...

Belanjawan 2012. Tak dapat bising, dapat pun bising.

Some of the highlights from Budget 2012:

  1. Exemption of fees in school. In short, free education. Plus, students from standard 1 to form 5, focusing on the lower income family, will be provided RM100 each to lessen the burden. (and there's this person, whom he calls himself a teacher, complains about how free education has been a propaganda since Datuk Seri Hishammuddin's era, how the students and teachers have to pay PTA fees, yuran rumah sukan etc., while he, himself did not listen to the Budget Speech at all. Then, when people bombarded his wall with explanations, he justified that if everything's free, meaning the school will have no fund for extra activities. Duh.... kalau duk mengharapkan semua kerajaan bagi, sampai susah pun tak maju. Side activities other than what is required by the education's system, of course la tak ditanggung. Then you know why some government assisted schools have better infrastructures the government schools, because they have better PTA funds. Dengan anak-anak pun berkira. Ni la Melayu (specifically). Macam mana nak maju neh).
  2. Increment based on the new SBPA. I dare not say anything about this because we are still waiting for the new circular :)
  3. Half month bonus in December 2011 (I am definitely buying baby's stuffs hehe).

My thought is more on the education, because I am some-what related :P

During my school years, my father refused to accept Skim Pinjaman Buku Teks (I haven't asked him until today why he refused). I think one of the reasons, there were more needy people than we are. Plus, the books' condition were...hmmm... you know, hand-me-downs look like. So, all 5 of us, bought our own text books. Due to the price of text books, we were taught to wrap our books, exercise books included so that they would look tidy and neat, even after repeated errr... usage? (books crammed inside our bulky school bags, dragged our bags, accidentally spilled something on the books, etc.).

That habit didn't even change during my secondary years. Even when veryone gets free text books, regardless the household income, still, most of the books (I dare say 70%) in good condition. One of the initiative that my teachers took was, the week we were handed the books, we were required to wrap the books, mandatory. If not, our books would be seized and we'd never get our books back.

These days, everything under the education is for free. So, we expect people would stop whining, complaining or even lamenting on fees etc. No more paying for text books, no more fees for sports, no more fees for this and that. Alas, no. People still complain.

I nearly lost my temper with my ex-schoolmate. If he keeps on complaining, why bother being a teacher? I do not understand this kind of mentality and I'm at wits' end with people like this. Even his friends quoted back the Budget Speech, but still, he tried to back himself up by replying the other way round. He even asked about PTA fees, sports fees, etc. Kalau dah malas nak dengar Budget Speech tu jangan berlagak pandai la potpet potpet the unknown. I wonder what did he teach to his students when we have this kind of mentality? I am not finger pointing at everyone in the teaching profession, but particularly this guy. So what are his contributions anyway? AT LEAST read the speech text, then comment. Talking like an idiot doesn't help at all and it makes him look totally ignorant and lame-brained (a list-long of bad words to write but he needs not to be mentioned a few times here).

Last but not least, let us be grateful servants of Allah. If we do not like what's given to us, then strive to have things better. Not by sitting on your fat arse and do nothing except complaining.

And when your Lord proclaimed: If ye give thanks, I will give you more; but if ye are thankless, lo! My punishment is dire.
(translation by Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall)
Ibraheem : Verse 7

Ok, enough of babbling.
Praise be to Allah for I am still Muslim, I believe in His rewards in the Hereafter :)

Tempat Kerja

There are several issues that I'd like to point out. Berdasarkan pemerhatian, rata-rata staf gomen ni ingat cuti tu hak depa.

Fikir logikla... lain la kalau pergi tu time late autumn or winter, it makes sense. Mintak elaun pulak untuk bulan Ogos. Mentang-mentang la everything was sponsored, takkan nak mintak duit lebih RM1,500 kot...? Huhuhuhu~ Mentaliti apekahhhhh ini? Saya yang tak pernah pegi UK pun tau musim ni! (terima kasih kepada cikgu Geografi saya hehehehehee~ Winter starts in December in the Europe, some places might experience colder season, usually late autumn in November).

Ok, enough about serious stuff. Since everyone is still in their Raya mood (unfortunately not for me), my sector will be holding a feast this coming Friday. The menu? Specifically, I don't know. But I do know that all the dishes contain very high cholesterol level hahahaahhaahaaaa~!! But, as being advised by the nurse, I should not be taking carbs too much (Puan Yaya mesti boleh tolong saya bab ni hehe), while I can't go on only depending on proteins and fibers. This morning my husband bought me nasik lemak. Aiyok... Tapi saya tak ambik. I took only the mini pizza he bought while hungrily gulping my daily Milo-dosage (yes, I love cold Milo from the carton).

My office is less cold now. I'm happy! During those long Ramadhan days, I just couldn't stand the icy cold air-conditioning system. I felt sick just as soon as my husband's car entered the complex (so much for the drama haha). Bilik masih bersepah dengan - berbotol-botol air mineral, air kotak, bekalan roti, 3-in-1 oat drink etc. So much for being pregnant kan? Ingatkan tukar division baru ni dah ok, awal-awal before pregnant memang bersih bilik ni. Tiba-tiba bila pregnant ni jadi malas semacam, even worse than before! Niha, sila lah sedar diri sebelum terlambat (eh tiba-tiba terasa nak minum Ribena).

Owh, akan bercerita panjang pasal my dearest husband in the next post. Tata! :D
