Wrap Up for the Weekend

Owhhhh.... Lamanya tak update! Super busy and I'm not feeling really well. This morning's blood sugar was 1.7mmol/L and after I had breakfast (roti telur and hot Milo), the reading was 5.7mmol/L. Considering it ok, will have to go for 3.00 pm session and the last one at 9.00 pm.

Here's a wrap up for the weekend :

Saturday
Went movie-watching with dearest husband : Puss in Boots 3D at Mid Valley. Cute feline I must say! Arrived at 10.30, we picked up the tickets (twin seats + 3D = RM43) that we've bought online. Before we enter the hall, we went for brunch at Carl's Jr. Had Chili Cheese Fries and Can't-Remember-The-Burger's-name. The movie ended around 1.30pm. Went for prayer and shopped things for the baby at Jusco.

Sementara tunggu order sampai, mari check Facebook dulu :P
*Muka lapar tak pandang kiri kanan*
Uhhhh 96~ Kalau dapat no 69? Hahahhaha~
Chili Cheese Fries with Famous Star burger
(I guess my tongue got super sensitive that the fries tasted too salty)

Om nom nom nom...

Getting ready for 3D action
Errr... 6D perhaps?
Hah, bab shopping for the baby yang nak marah ni. My husband, being excited (as usual) bought things for the baby which cost us RM200. Dia tak ingat langsung kat saya yang baju dah makin hari makin tak muat. Sekarang ni duk ulang baju sama je, which is tak best langsung. Huhuhuhu~ Dia main ambikkkkk je letak-letak semua dalam bakul. Kita ni duk ingatkan dia supaya jangan membazir. Merajuk tau duk beli barang-barang baby tapi tak ingat punnn kat kita ni T____T

Sebakul. Which cost us almost RM300 T___T

Sengihla sebab suka.
Yang kita ni? takde orang tanya pun :(
Hasilnya :

30++ pasang baju baby (mommy pun takde banyak tu)
Swaddle 5 helai
New born pampers (28 keping = RM18. Mahal)
My favourite quote.
Hahahaha~
Millions of jumpers/rompers
Sunday
We're supposed to attend Syazwan's wedding in Setapak but unfortunately I fell sick that day. So, no activity for the whole day because I could only manage to lie down and watch TV.

Monday (Maal Hijrah Public Holiday)
Owh, saya berjaya masak Asam Pedas Ikan Merah (gambar lupa ambik huhu) and Chocolate Pie! :D

I invited my family for lunch. The menu:
Nasi Putih
Asam Pedas Ikan Merah
Ulam
Sambal Belacan
Terung Goreng Tepung

Tadaaaa~ The meringue was too sweet for me which I end up discarding the meringue heheheh. I'll post the recipe soon ok? :)

The crunchy crust and chocolate filling!
A slice for me :)

Puasa dan Nafsu makan

Ok. Berkenaan tajuk di atas. Ye, saya sedang lapar. tengok gambar Swedish Meatballs, dan-dan je tekak ni terasa nak makan meatballs. Siap salin recipe lagi. Tengok chicken puff pun pulun salin recipe jugak. Wah-wah Niha, tak sedar diri dah tembam ni, makin kuat melantak pulak ye. Saya berpuasa hari ini. Kenapa? For no specific reason. Siap paksa husband lagi puasa. Harap-harap ok (tadi call, dia cakap dia puasa lagi hehehe...just checking :P).

Sahur pagi tadi minum susu Enfa Mama. Manis. Sangat tak best ok susu tu. Baik minum susu kotak biasa je. Lagi sedap. Huk huk. Tapi memandangkan karang tak cukup calcium, redah jugakla minum susu perisa coklat itu. Eh, tahan pulak perut ni sampai sekarang (Tipu, tadi cakap lapar. Rasanya sebab tengok gambar makanan kot? Haha). Bukan, maksud saya, nak banding beberapa hari sebelum ni, saya memang kuat makan. Semalam je dah bedal semangkuk bubur. Siap marah husband lagi sebab dia makan saya punya bubur (Dia memang suka makan saya punya makanan. Tension tau.). Ok, lupakan kes kebulur tadi tu.

Saya terjumpa recipe Korea : Jap Chae. Made of glass noodles. Bukan sebarang glass noodles tau! Yang biasa kita makan tu made of green bean's starch. This is made of potato starch. Saya dah pernah makan suhun versi gabak ni masa pergi China haritu. Sedap woooo~!!!. Dia goreng macam mee goreng, tapi perisanya tak tergambar. Sorryla kalau korang kurang gemar masakan Cina, tapi almaklumla mak saya Cina, takleh nak lari terrrsuka masakan Cina dan yang seangkatan dengannya. Tu belum lagi sebut Dim Sum. Hong Kong dim sum adalah terbaeeekkkk~!!!! Nak sangat buat (Sebab hadiah kawin dapat steamer yeayeahhhh~!). Tunggu masa je beli tepung dim sum tu sebab susah bebenor nak jumpa. Unless pergi Tesco. (Usaha yahhh~!!!)

Jap Chae

Ok, kesimpulannya bila saya dah salin recipe, tak semestinya saya buat, tapi kalau ada kelapangan, bolehla buat and upload the recipe. Jeng jeng jeng. Sekian repekan buat masa ini. Solat Zuhur pun belum. Apedaaaa...

Until then :)

Mode : Super Lapar. Teringat La Mian in beef broth (handmade pulled noodle) kat Shenzhen la pulakkkkk. Bahaya ni T____T

Other Blogs That I Read/Visit

Interesting read indeed.

I stumbled upon this blog and started reading its contents for quite some time whenever I have time. Undeniably very refreshing, until I found out he has another blog which I regretted for not finding it earlier, sort of. I don't know the real gender, assuming from the picture, it's a male :P. The chap, although I don't know him at all (well that's the use of cyber space, getting connected to the unknown hehe), the way he tells/blogs on his points of view, made me crave for more. Twisted? Could be. I hope that I could read books as much as he does (or at least he knows a lot of books than I do). I hate making assumptions but having that kind of attitude wows me much. Why? I can't explain it here because I'm not a person who's very good at explaining. Perhaps I'm just a very boring person. I do not simply promote blogs to read/die for, we don't know each other but heck, it's MY point of view :P

Moist Chocolate Cake Made Easy (Microwave Version)

Haaaa...Even though I made these darlings long time ago, I just want to share this simple recipe with you guys out there. This could be baked in a microwave oven or the conventional oven. I got this recipe from the net and I altered a bit so that they would't be too chocolaty (my husband is not so fond of chocolate)

Ingredients A
2 ½ cups brown sugar
1 ¾ cups flour
1 tsp of baking powder
¾ cup cocoa powder
1 ½ tsp soda bicarbonate
A pinch of salt

Ingredients B
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup fresh milk or evaporated milk
*1 cup hot water         }add these * together
*2 tsp of Nescafè™    }
½ cup of cooking oil

Topping
½ of chocolate bar
2 tbs butter
3 tbs of sweetened condensed milk (more if you want sweeter)
1 tsp of vanilla essence
A pinch of salt

How To
  1. Beat the egg and the sugar until fluffy
  2. Mix Ingredient A all together (or you sift them if you want fluffier cake)
  3. Pour them into the egg mixture, in small portions until everything is mixed thoroughly.
  4. Add in the remaining Ingredients B, and everything will be dissolved by the hot coffee.
  5. Put into a microwave dish and set the microwave on HIGH. Bake them for 10 minutes.
  6. If you don't have any microwave, bake them in the oven at 180°C for 30-40 minutes (please make sure to preheat the oven before baking the cake).
  7. My style, I put them into small cupcake papers and bake them in the oven for 40 minutes.
  8. For the chocolate topping, mix the butter, chocolate bar, condensed milk, vanilla and salt over a low heat.until they melt. Stir continuously until everything has melted, remove from the heat. Pour small amount over the cake / cupcakes.
You may also use the cupcake papers (like I did). Sesuai untuk dibawa ke ofis menjamu kawan-kawan sekali sekali. Hehehehehehe~

Nanti saya update dengan gambar ye :D

Husband-less Weekend

Since my husband is not around this weekend, I spent my time watching the movie (with permission) "Hantu Kak Limah Pulang Ke Rumah" with a bunch of friends. Kak Ina, Ned, Kak Zura, Azrin and Mr. Cindy (5 girls and a guy). The movie? Hilarious. Packed with sarcasm on Malaysians these days. Be them government servants, typical villagers, superstitious etcetera.

Watching the movie reminds me of how most of us these days live. Dahla tak kenal jiran. Jiran sakit ke, hilang ke, jatuh ke, apetah lagi meninggal punnnn tak tau. Lepas tu, buruk sangka kat jiran. Macam cerita Desperate Housewives Wisteria Lane tu. Then, watak pekerja kesihatan. Ada je alasan itu ini. Ada seminar la, nak hantar wife check up la. Meaning, that's the typical government servant. Taking everything for granted. Padahal memang mereka bertugas untuk masyarakat. Pasal kepercayaan tahyul. Asal sakit je cakap kena sampuk. Asal terserempak benda pelik-pelik je cakap hantu. The eyes see what the mind wants us to see. Lagi kita percaya dan mengada-adakan cerita, lagi la benda tu dekat pada kita. Dari tak nampak, jadi nampak. Mungkin ramai tak perasan mesej yang cuba disampaikan dalam cerita ini.

I have found a new hobby. Sewing. Hahahaha...Have been searching for references on the net. Ordered some felt online and waiting for the owner of the blog to respond. Anyway, feel free to browse any felt-seller around town. You'll sure get the juicy ideas come poring down once you get your hands on them (the felt, noy the seller :P). Will be going to Daiso in USJ for fabric-hunting with partner-in-crime : Siti Suhaila :D (Pembetulan : Daiso is in Puchong :P)

Went to Alamanda today with Abangah. And bought a TV. Sharp Aquos. Terbanggggg duit RM1500. Puasa la next week. Huhuhuhu...surveyed for some fridge. Some are quite nice. Cost around RM1200 for LG or a Panasonic. Will go again next week :). Bought at S*engH*eng. Got warranty for 5 years. Better than buying somewhere else and got only a year warranty. Takut jadi macam Kak Ina. Dah kena repair LCD TV which costs her RM800. OMG.

Happily watching TV at the moment. Hehehehehhehe~ Well, I have not watched TV for a month! Who would stay sane after all those time being TV-less??? Owh. Maybe that would only be me. Hohoho... I don't care. I got a new TV. :D

Weekend Wife, Nasi Lemak and Throwing Tantrums

As of lately, my mood swings tremendously. Pity my husband, who has to bear all the consequences. He mentioned that I have to be properly fed, enough sleep and good rest in order to 'function' as usual. Hehehehehe...sorry ye :P

We went for a movie at the Pavilion. He wanted to watch Ngangkung, so I decided it's ok walaupun nak sangat-sangat tengok cerita Rapunzel. Had dinner at Nando's (sedappppp). Ngangkung? Takut-takut jugak. Ada scene terkejut. Moral values tetap ada. But as for me, bolehlaaaa...plot agak longgar (macamla terer sangat yang tukang komen tu).

Macam biasa, menggedik/camwhore
Hahahahahaaaaa...

Graphics Design

Hmmm...after almost 3 years I have left the architecture world. I miss the tight-schedule days, but that doesn't mean I'm about to get myself entangled in that world again. I'm planning to get myself the certificate for graphics designing but unfortunately still have no time to do so. Plus, I need a proper computer / laptop too! Mengharapkan laptop yang separuh nazak ni, berjaya jugakla menghasilkan a few pieces of junks for my department and myself, as well as for my colleagues too. I bet, most of my fellow architecture colleagues have mastered the skill of graphics design. Most of them have their own DSLRs, and taking jobs as part-time photographer. Owh, they took lovely pictures and managed to capture the moment superbly. Me? Hahahaa...sitting by the desk while rummaging through piles of papers to be sorted out and actions to be taken.

My desk has never been in clear or tidy status. Always in a mess. The only time that I can clean up my desk is on Fridays. But that depends too. Eh, boleh gajikan orang ke nak kemaskan office? Hahahahaha...pemalas sungguh! Owh...I'm planning to pursue my studies too. Ambik Master in Information Management la kot. Sebab ayah kata boleh relate. Seharusnya kena bayar sendiri. Huhuhuhuuu~ *Next year boleh bodek husband untuk sambung study. Ahaks :P*

Chocolates Anyone? (Hutang Post to Kak Mala :D)

Chocolate Caramel. Source : Our Chocolate

As I browsed through the Internet, I found methods of making your own chocolate (which later can be moulded, shaped, cut etc.) I feel intrigued to do so, but I have to buy an instant-read thermometer so that the process of melting the chocolate won't exceed the required temperature.
You can either have the conventional or the digital Instant-Read Thermometers
Source : Mr. Google

The technique is called "Tempering the Chocolate". Usually, we just melt the chocolate as a whole to make our chocolate sauce, fondue etc.. But in order to make you own chocolate bar recipe, tempering the chocolate is crucial as it will determine the perfection of the chocolate. If not, the chocolate would end up runny or does not have a shiny and smooth surface as we would expect them to be ;)

Methods of How To Temper Your Chocolate (Source : About.com) :

You need :

1 pound of chocolate
Accurate instant-read thermometer
Double boiler
Rubber spatula

  1. Make sure that your chocolate comes in bar shape. Not the chocolate chips. According to the information I got from the Internet, chocolate chips have additives so that they would retain the shape even after heat is applied and would not be tempered properly. So, get yourselves chocolate bars.
  2. Chop the chocolate bar into smaller pieces so that it would be easier for you to melt them.
  3. Melt only 2/3 of your chocolate. Use the usual method to melt chocolates : Double Boiling. Put/clip the instant-read thermometer or chocolate thermometer at the side of the pot so that you can monitor the chocolate's temperature.
  4. Stir gently the chocolate as the chocolate melts, using ONLY rubber spatula.
  5. Bring the chocolate to 115 degrees (for dark chocolate) and 110 degrees (for milk chocolate and white chocolate). I guess they're in Fahrenheit because if it's 115 Celcius it would be a boiling point for the chocolate and the chocolate would get burnt :P (worth a try, I'll tell you guys later if I succeeded with the temperature thingy :P). When it has reached the right temperature, remove from the heat/stove and away from any heat and make sure the thermometer is still attached to the pot. Please avoid exceed the recommended temperature.
  6. Add the remaining chocolate chunks and gently stir them to make sure that everything is melted. This will actually bring down the temperature of the heated chocolate.
  7. Cool the chocolate and once the melted chocolate gets below 84 degrees, remove any remaining chocolate chunks seen on the surface. This can be kept/stored in a plastic wrap to be saved for other usage.
  8. If you wish to reheat the chocolate, reheat the chocolate briefly. Place the chocolate over warm water (using double boiler method also) for 5-10 minutes, remove and stir repeatedly until it reaches 88-89 degrees (for dark chocolate) or 87 degrees (for milk chocolate and white chocolate). Again, do not leave the chocolate over the hot water or let it exceed 91 degrees.
  9. Test the chocolate. To make sure that the chocolate is tempered properly, do a spot test. Spread a spoonful into an even thin layer on a waxed paper and allow it to cool. If it turns out shiny and smooth, then you just made yourself a Chocolate Master!!! Hehehehee... If the surface turns out streaky or not shiny, then you'll have to make another batch of tempering the chocolate :P

There you go. Now you can have your own chocolate at your own comfort. Or in the middle of the night when you're craving for a treat! :D

I Cracked The Code!!!

Well, after this, maybe I can consider to 'open' my blog for anyone's view. Hehehehe~
Lalalallalaaaaa~ ;)

Anyway, I'm killing the time by making boxes out of used papers. I'm thinking of giving out wedding favours in a hand-made box, so that it would cost less and according to my budget. Simple as it seems, it requires only folding the paper into a square case and I managed to actually create a cover for the box using the same method, but slightly different measurement. It does sound a little bit more steps to be done but voila! My box is perfect and cute ^__^

The New Home and Updates on What's Happening Lately ^___^

Okayyyy...all these while I've telling you guys about my new house. Ber-entry² marahkan B*PH, kali ni baru berpeluang menghaplod gambar-gambar dari rumah (even though not much).

Master Bedroom and Living Hall

The feature wall I keep on highlighting these says :P

Owh, I went to IKEA last 2 weeks (which on that day I bought those throws, railing for cups, surveying for king size beds etc.). I took this picture of the bed that I think very simple and much to my liking :D

That's Ana on the bed. Sheepish kan my sister ni? Haha...

Actually, I went to IKEA with my mom, my sister Ana and her boy friend, Hanif, including little Binky the Angora rabbit. Binky is Hanif's pet and we brought him along so that he could get the grooming service at IKANO (kelassss kau Binky. Aku pun tak pernah pegi grooming session okayyyy. Nasib baik kau cute, kalo tak, saje je aku buat sate rabbit).

Hanif and the crate we put Binky inside

Binky got diarrhea because Hanif's mom gave him cabbage and celery stick.
Terkejut agaknya, selama ni makan pellets je hehehee~

And before we went shopping frenzy that cost me nearly RM500, we refilled our 'tanks' first :D

My mom and I while gobbling up the Swedish Meatballs and Cranberry Sauce.
Wait, was it cranberry? Lantaklah, asalkan edible berries.
Bukan berry-berry yang Akmal duk cakap tu okayyy *shivers*

Waiting for more things to buy this coming August but macam tinggal harapan je. The car (after the wreckage) costs me RM5400!!! There goes my savings T___T. Maka, dapat berangan jela setakat ni. Uhuk.

Scenes in Kuala Terengganu

I spent almost 3 days in Kuala Terengganu and managed to snap here and there although I didn't go almost everywhere. Nevertheless, I love the fact that at least someone over there was trying his best to make sure I had a good time :D

Went to Sayed Abdul Halim + Siti Suhaila's wedding = small reunion :D

... and had an evening treat in Teluk Ketapang with Encik Rezalman right after the wedding reception :D

Knocking ourselves out macam jakun in Lembah Bidong the next day (although I was sulking on our way there hehe)

People in search of "remis" (clam-like creature) in Lembah Bidong. Look at the clouds ;D

Let the pictures speak ;)
